Fine Art: Chuck Close

Orly

This class took a look at the art of Chuck Close, and used a similar grid technique to paint large, lifelike portraits. The great thing about using a grid, is that it allows people without any drawing abilities to paint something that looks real and impressive.

Only two students had the guts to tackle such an intimidating project, but they both blew themselves away with the quality of the work they produced. Who knew they had it in them? Time constraints meant that the class ended before the paintings were completed, but I'll be adding photo updates when Orly and Laura finish their paintings.
